CNN.com - Blake found not guilty in wife's killing - Mar 16, 2005

Well, If my credibility isn't shot by now, I don't know what I can't do to ruin it. In my defense, I did note that the "she deserved it" sentiment may carry him through, I'm curious if that's what won it for him. I know that they didn't overtly use this defense, but it had to have played in the minds of the jurors.

What the Hell---if the state has the right to kill someone for being completely immoral, then why not let a misguided HAS-BEEN have a little justice.

I think it was as simple as what some of the jurors said, which was that there simply wasn't enough evidence to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

I think that the evidence was similar in strength to the evidence against Scott Peterson - weak and circumstantial. But Peterson had a pretty young wife and some gruesome photos of her and the fetus' decomposed body, while Blake's wife was completely unsympathetic. Peterson's case became emotionally charged, with all the talk of justice for the poor victims - Bonnie was never portrayed that way. The media, to some extent, had Blake as a victim of her manipulations.
